C&C Cages in General

I've tried making a cage similar to these on my own, and while it worked, the results were less than stellar. The materials from this site are well-designed, precisely cut, and the colors are beautiful. Our 2 girls have been zooming around like maniacs since we built their new home; they absolutely love it!

Bought my first C&C cage a few years ago and added the fleece flippers about 1 year ago with the Cavy Cafe Kitchen and the guinea pigs have loved both tremendously. Definitely recommend to anyone!

I purchased the open-air 2x5 C&C cage with a narrow loft and single ramp, alongside the strips of edging recommended for chewers! I have two boars who formerly lived in a 47.25in x 24.5in plastic-bottom cage. It was the largest I could buy at a pet store, and while it worked for almost a year, their bickering has increased since the younger one matured. I knew more space would be the first way to help.

I decided to invest in a new environment for them! I knew a C&C cage would be the best way to get the space I wanted, and I began looking into options. This store by-far had the most product diversity and credibility that I came across. From my research, the prices are extremely fair, as well. I looked into acquiring the materials myself, however getting enough coroplast (or an equivalent) looked impossible, let alone cutting and assembling it properly with the grates. The cost of the cage, then, felt more than fair, considering both that most work would be taken care of, and that it really wasn't much more than the pet store cage half its size I was replacing. The fact that add-ons like the edging or specialized grids are so low was a pleasant surprise, too.

I did need to send a help request upon sending the order, since an address line autofilled incorrectly, and I received a prompt response within 24 hours assuring me that the change would be made and that everything was set. From there, my order arrived right when I was told to expect it, if not earlier considering lingering holiday postal backups. Despite being a large cage, the package was slim and not so long that I couldn't carry it inside myself. All parts of the order were inside and undamaged, plus extra scraps of coroplast that were used for packing. I'm excited to come up with a fun way to use them!

The assembly instructions were clear and painless to carry out, even with my loft addition. I especially appreciated the abundance of zip-ties included, as I was worried I would need to buy some of my own! I ended up using those alone to put the grids together instead of also using the links, as per the advice on C&Cs I saw on an LA Guinea Pig Rescue video. This did make the grids fit a little more snugly around the basin than intended. If you're unsure which way is best for you, definitely try it with the links as-intended first.

After all that? My boys are loving it! They even have gotten a hang of using the ramp and enjoying the loft already, despite being in there for less than two days. The advice on using food incentives to train them to be comfortable with the incline worked fabulously. This obviously depends on the animal. However, I can tell that they enjoy getting a view and being able to wheek for treats even closer to my and my roommates' faces! We also love that the open top makes it easier for us to interact with them throughout the day. I see a lot of popcorn in the future.

What really sells this product for me, though, is the people behind it. There's so much misinformation about proper small animal care that treats them more like toys than anything else. I appreciated the plethora of information of proper guinea pig care sown throughout the website so that it can help people even if they don't buy anything. In general, this company also knows their product extremely well. The information they have about each item, size, and variation was invaluable in helping me decide what options were right for me and my pets.

TL;DR: Great value, excellent product, exceptional company! Will return for any future needs, and would recommend. Most importantly, the guinea pigs are already happier!

Our one-year old triplet girls have been living in their large 2 x 4 new home for about a month now, and they love their bright and beautiful, roomy new home, which looks great in our living room. They are very active girls, running and chasing each other throughout the day, and then taking their 15-minute power naps to recharge. They are so much at ease in their new home that many times they do not sleep in any of their 3 hideaways, but rather, in their own separate cozy corner :) We had also purchased the cage stand, the cage cover, and 4 covered storage bins in cream and brown, which coordinate wonderfully with their cream colored Coroplast base. Although we have NO other pets in our home, the versatile cage cover gives the girls a sense of security, since they were accustomed to the screen cover that was used on their previous cage. We also applaud your wonderful customer service team. There was a missing item in our order, and Sue responded immediately to my email. She had the missing item shipped out the very next day after our correspondence!

Our 2x4 C&C Cage from The Guinea Pig Cage Store was absolutely amazing! Very Easy and Quick assembly, My 13-Year-Old Son was able to put it together in 15 Minutes Flat! It changed both of our Piggies behavior, Both were very happy and felt more secure in a bigger cage. One of our pigs stopped chewing on the bars because he had a lot more space to exercise and prevent boredom. And, Very fast shipping as well! Took 3 Days from Connecticut to our home in Michigan.

I've had lots of guinea pigs as a young child and when my girlfriend and I decided to get our first forever pets it was without a doubt we were getting piggies.

I was well aware of C&C cages as I had one for my previous pigs. They were an awesome idea.

I planned on building one but by the time I realized what grids and coroplast cost, plus all the other expenses (my time and sanity) it was a no brainer to purchase a pre fabricated cage.

Best decision I made. I had accidently punched my address in wrong so quickly fired off an email to correct it and quickly got a response and update.

It arrived today via UPS and was impressed with how shortly it it took to get here to the Great White North.

All the pieces were included, everything was to spec and I was more than happy with the quality. We purchased a 2x4 with 2x2 loft and within half an hour it was assembled. You can tell the cage has been proven and tested by guinea pig owners as it is way better than the C&C homemade cages from years ago.

Between the quality and service, the extra bit I paid made it all worth while. Our boys are much happier and once they realize they can walk down the ramp to the rest of the cage they'll be even more ecstatic. Thanks for making this PAINLESS!

<p>This is not a cage for our piggies it is a home. We lost our first guinea pig after only 11 months and the kids as well as their parents were devastated. We had no idea how much we loved our peanut butter. I was determined to bring two new guinea pigs home for our family and started to research the best way to care for them. Learning that guinea pigs need room to run and popcorn I knew the store bought cage was too small. We all sat around one night and chose our colors and other accessories for the new home. When it came we were so excited. It took 10 minutes to assemble and fit perfectly in our front room. We laid uhaul pads and felt on the floor of their home and then began to look for new piggies. Oreo and Patches love the space, they love hiding in the forest and the kitchen was the best purchase we made. It is super easy to clean. The kids can do it on their own. Most of their litter is in the kitchen and the rest can be cleaned up easily. The cage doesn't smell, their is nothing on my carpet and the open design has allowed all of us to pet and play with them so much better. 5 stars is not enough. Any other cage is just not good enough. Thank you for having such a great product. We love it!!!!</p>

<p>got a large with large loft and hearty hay barn with corral. These little poofs have been goin nuts since being introduced to it. I highly recommend these cages. If you think youll do better by sourcing parts and goin alone, you may get it cheaper. But as an AVID DIYer, Its always a question I raise and with this I personally concluded; the price you pay for this setup is basically worth the savings of hair loss and or gray hairs you'd get from the stress of the tedious parts sourcing, planning, and of course the will it work question of the DIY projects which are completely taken care of for you with this product. You get to do only the fun part. assemble and watch the happiness of your guineas spread like reeking wildfire. Buy the cages and accessories fam. your guinea squad fam will oink you to death for it :)</p>

<p>I recently purchased the 2x5 standard cage for my girls (4) and they couldn't love it more.. nonstop laps and popcorning. I am very happy with the product. I was also amazed it shipped so fast.</p>

My daughter has been using the Fleece Flippers since September 2016. We bought two sets. So there is always one set that is clean then one dirty.

They are working out great! When we wash one set we do two loads one of the liners and one of the fleece. It comes out cleaner that way. We also use a cup of vinegar in each load.

Firstly thsi site is AMAZING! exactly what i was looking for as a new piggie owner! I have three sows and I got an XL (2x6) cage and it is jsut wonderful! the standard 6" sides are the perfet height for heeping the bedding (I use aspen shavings not fleece) in the cage but still allowing for air movement nd viewing for my girls. They are very happy with the large space and there is plenty of room for the three of them! Shipping was as expected and reasonable for how it ships. I do recommend UPS over Fedex as they seem to be faster and there is less of a hassle for delivering to apartments (where I live) That added a few days to my delivery - that and i ordered over a holiday weekend. I think in the future I will be getting some add on's - like the kitchen and a second level specifically for feeding. Very much recommend to others! Great store! Thanks so much! I already reviewed the cage on 2/22/2016 and the one thing I was concerned with regarding the chloroplast was the durability of the cage over the long term. I am still very much impressed with the space the gps have in this versus a pet store cage and the girls love the ramp and wide loft and very much happy but... we bought white bars...do not do that with a chewer. She has chewed them to bare metal now and from an aesthetic standpoint is looks pretty mangled so buy black bars. We have lost several of the connectors for the grid meaning they come off pretty easily and seriously have no idea where they went. The kitchen area was fine when they were small but now that the gps are substantially bigger we are finding they no longer eat in the kitchen but instead sit outside the lip and eat from there meaning the mess the kitchen is intended to contain has now been transferred to outside of the kitchen. In addition with daily dumping of the kitchen "mess" the the plastic rivets holding the kitchen together have all come out. We tried duct tape but the chewer has chewed it all away. Ultimately we solved the kitchen problem by cutting away the lip, attaching a 5 inch piece of chloroplast to extend the area and using metal rivets in all areas to keep it together. It seems to be working and the chewer leaves the metal rivets alone. Sometimes it just comes down to finding ways to defeat gp habits. The main chloroplast body, wide loft and ramp are still in good shape and holding up well but the loft is sagging in the middle with the grid squares but does appear to be safe. We defeated the chewer by putting newspaper in front of the ramp on the loft so she would chew on this instead of the ramp edges. If you have a nervous, chewer gp, no matter the amount of chew items available, they love the chloroplast and bars and defeating this has been our biggest hurdle. We still consider a good buy but you do have to proactive.
